Two little coin wallets

Nice that it is not so hot anymore.  I went to Greensgrow my neighborhood community nursery and got a bag of compost and brussel sprout and swiss chard plants for my backyard garden.  I'm really looking forward to the brussel sprout plants, they are very cool!

My sewing activities were limited to two little wallets pictured below.
Doctor Suess Tree fabric,  The one on the left has a nice pink zipper.

Green polka-dot lining, and the one on the right has a light blue zipper.
I really like making these.  They are so quick and have snaps (I love my snaps!) and zippers!  I use the first on I made as my wallet.  They have room for cards and cash.

Couple things

I spent too much time today watching the William and Kate's Wedding to get a lot done.  But I did enjoy the wedding.  I also weeded my garden for a time and took some pictures of the new blooms and buds.

I did make a clutch and new little coin purse with french seams posted on Crafty Ady's Blog.  I enjoyed making the coin purse, I think the ribbon is a bit too long, but it was the first time out.  I used my new material from Spool a great new fabric store I visited with my sister Susan earlier this week.  They certainly have a great selection of fabric and they are so friendly and welcoming!  I'd definitely recommend them!

fun fabric huh?

I know the bottom fabric is upside down!

That's the extent of my sewing for today.

Thanks for reading me!

Handles, piping, zebra fur

I've finally added handles to the top of my triangle pocket zipper pouches.  This makes them full fledged handbags.   First I made a little one, it would be perfect for a little girl.
6" x 5.5"

After I made this little one I got ambitious and made a big one.

10" x 7"

It was a bit boring, so I added the buttons to give it a little zip.  I guess the zebra fake fur wasn't exciting enough for me.

Variety

I didn't post this weekend and lest you think that I'm not sewing here goes.

a little holder for my tissues. 3.5" x 5"

the card fabric
Cute, pockets on front and back

I think the second on, with the pok-a-dots turned out nicer.  I like the blue piping.

That Pleated Bag Revisited

Went to the fabric store with both sisters, Joanne and Susan, and Lauren (of course).  I got some thread, another clear ruler (longer) and a remnant of my favorite material and alittle clipper.  We went out to lunch, had a good time.

I couldn't let that pleated clutch get the better of me so I've done it again.  I totally like the fabrics better, its got a nice apple green zipper, and all in all, a much better version.  Still think the pleats should get the other way.

Pleats???

I tried a new tutorial from A Lemon Squeezy Home for the Pleated Pouch. Pretty good tutorial, but that pouch I made is UGLY!  Check it out:

10.5" x 5.5"
the lining
the back

It has a few different issues, the pleats are funky, I know what I did wrong, and the zipper isn't right on the one side.

Fake Fur, so much fun!

Its sale day at Joann Fabrics and I got new stuff to play with.  I got fake zebra fur.  LOVE IT!!!! See here...

I've been wanting that zebra for quite sometime, with the 50% off, it was manageable.  I also got some ribbon, and eyelet grommets in colors, I'm hoping to do cool things!

Pyramid Coin Purse

Here's a small edition to today's blog:
5" in all directions - nice daisy lining

 caio!

A couple more little bags

Geez!  My cell phone gave up the ghost, or so I thought.  Actually when I went to the store I was able to order a new battery.  I could have gotten a new phone, but that would have entailed me signing up for 2 more years, and I just don't know if I can commit.  So I've fired up my old phone from 2008.  I'm having difficulties remembering how this phone works!  And I don't think it has a camera!  How weird is that?  But it works and I get to have my blinking l LED's again, I like that!!!

here's the latest:

12" x 8" x 5" and 6.5" x 6" x 3"

That's a jellybean lining on the big one!

I'm looking for new projects, I'm getting bored of these zipper pouches. I'm going to peruse the tutorials today!   Hopefully you'll all get to see something different soon.
